DRY EYE DISEASE EVALUATION AND TREATMENT

Living with dry eye disease can be frustrating and inconvenient. The demands of our everyday lives make us more susceptible to dry eyes at the same time allowing less time for appropriate treatment. At Crozet Eye Care, we have invested in education and technology to accurately diagnose the cause of your dry eyes. During your Dry Eye Disease Evaluation, we determine an individual treatment plan to address your specific needs.

DRY EYE DISEASE EVALUATION

During your evaluation, we will discuss your risk factors for dry eye disease. Using the Antares diagnostic instrument we will obtain images of your eyelid glands and measure how long your tears stay in your eyes. The osmolarity (salt content) of your tears will be determined with the TearLab Osmolarity System. This same system will be used to check your progress later on as treatments are initiated. Next, InflammaDry testing will determine if you have elevated levels of MMP-9, an inflammatory marker that is consistently elevated in the tears of patients with dry eye disease. Using special techniques, the doctor will then perform a comprehensive assessment of the eye surface and tear producing structures of your eye. All of this information will make your dry eye disease treatment more effective.

DRY EYE DISEASE TREATMENT

With so many treatment options available, it is difficult for patients to narrow down what will work for them. After your Dry Eye Disease evaluation, we will customize your treatment to fit your needs. Crozet Eye Care is pleased to offer advanced treatment like the OptiLIGHT™ IPL and OptiPLUS™ RF by Lumenis.
