What does it really mean when your Optician says metal or plastic? Do you know what your eyeglass frames are made of? Most “metal” frames are made of a combination of metals, including nickel, monel, cobalt, and beryllium. Most “plastic” frames are actually made of cellulose acetate, which is a combination of cotton and/or wood fibers. Which material is best for you?
